    According to the United States Census Bureau, the village has a total area of 1.84 square miles (4.77 km2), of which 1.81 square miles (4.69 km2) is land and 0.03 square miles (0.08 km2) is water.[1]

    As of the census[2] of 2010, there were 1,023 people, 342 households, and 272 families residing in the village. The population density was 565.2 inhabitants per square mile (218.2/km2). The racial makeup of the village was 97.7% White, 0.3% African American, 0.2% Native American, 0.2% from other races, and 1.7% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 0.3% of the population.

    There were 342 households of which 50.0% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 54.7% were married couples living together, 17.0% had a female householder with no husband present, 7.9% had a male householder with no wife present, and 20.5% were non-families. 17.0% of all households were made up of individuals and 8.7% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older.
