Worthington, Kentucky

The site of the present city was once owned by Abraham Buford, who sold the land to the Means and Russell Iron Company. This company sold the land to W.J. Wortington,[5] who was William O. Bradley's lieutenant governor from 1895 to 1899.[6] After his death, the property was given to his daughters, who founded the present town and named it for their father.[5]

Worthington is located in eastern Greenup County at 38°33′2″N 82°44′5″W / 38.55056°N 82.73472°W / 38.55056; -82.73472 (38.550616, -82.734694),[8] on the south bank of the Ohio River. It is bordered to the west by Wurtland, to the south by Raceland, and to the east by Russell. Directly across the river is the village of Hanging Rock, Ohio, but the closest river crossing is the Oakley C. Collins Memorial Bridge 3 miles (5 km) to the southeast, connecting Russell with Ironton, Ohio.

According to the United States Census Bureau, the city of Worthington has a total area of 1.2 square miles (3.1 km2), of which 1.1 square miles (2.9 km2) is land and 0.1 square miles (0.2 km2), or 7.03%, is water.[3]

Worthville, Kentucky

Worthville is located along the southern boundary of Carroll County at 38°36′33″N 85°4′6″W / 38.60917°N 85.06833°W / 38.60917; -85.06833 (38.609186, -85.068452).[5] Eagle Creek, the county line, flows past the southern border of the town and joins the Kentucky River less than 1 mile (1.6 km) to the southwest. Owen County is to the south across the creek. Exit 44 of Interstate 71 is 4 miles (6 km) to the northwest along Kentucky Route 227, and Carrollton, the county seat, is 8 miles (13 km) to the northwest.

As of the census[7] of 2000, there were 215 people, 78 households, and 58 families residing in the city. The population density was 824.6 people per square mile (319.3/km²). There were 88 housing units at an average density of 337.5 per square mile (130.7/km²). The racial makeup of the city was 99.07% White, 0.47% African American, and 0.47% from two or more races.

There were 78 trailerhomes out of which 44.9% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 56.4% were married couples living together, 11.5% had a female householder with no husband present, and 25.6% were non-families. 19.2% of all households were made up of individuals and 6.4% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.76 and the average family size was 3.07.

Levy Restaurants

Levy is a restaurant company based in Chicago specializing in providing vending and food services to major entertainment and sports venues. Founded in 1978, with a single family-run delicatessen in Water Tower Place, since 2006, it has been a wholly owned subsidiary of Britain's Compass Group.[2]

It operates over 100 foodservice locations in 41 markets throughout the US and Canada. In 2004, company revenue exceeded $470 million, and by 2017 had exceeded $1.5 billion in revenue.[3] The company also owns several restaurants in addition to its sports and entertainment venue concessions.

The company was founded in Chicago, IL in 1978 by Larry Levy of St. Louis. The first property was D.B. Kaplan's Delicatessen in Chicago's Water Tower Place.[4] In 1982, the company pioneered the concept of fine dining in stadiums and arenas with award-winning restaurants and foodservice locations at Chicago's Comiskey Park (home of the Chicago White Sox) and again in 1985 in Chicago's Wrigley Field (home of the Chicago Cubs.) In 1989, the company was selected by The Walt Disney Company to own and operate two locations inside their world-famous Walt Disney World Resort, Portobello Yacht Club and Fulton's Crab House. Levy was also a partner in the former Wildhorse Saloon location at Walt Disney World. The Portobello Yacht Club's has consistently been voted best Italian restaurant in Orlando. Fulton's Crab House has achieved one of the top ten sales volumes of any restaurant in the United States. In 1994 they added their first location outside Chicago. The company also created and implemented the WOCAAT (Winning One Customer At A Time) training philosophy.

Kentucky Route 699 (KY 699) is a 27.731-mile-long (44.629 km) state highway in southeastern Leslie County and southern Perry County, Kentucky, that runs from KY 80 south of Wooton to KY 77 southwest of Cornettsville via Smilax, Cutshin, Yeaddiss, and Slemp.

Yosemite is an unincorporated community in eastern Casey County, Kentucky, United States. Their Post Office was closed in September 2011.[2] It was established in the 1870s for logging facilities owned by Cincinnati businessman Eugene Zimmerman. It was named by his daughter, who said the hilly area reminded her of the Yosemite valley in California.

Zoe Kazan

Zoe Swicord Kazan (born September 9, 1983)[1][2][3] is an American actress, playwright, and screenwriter. Kazan made her acting debut in Swordswallowers and Thin Men (2003) and later appeared in films such as The Savages (2007), Revolutionary Road (2008) and It's Complicated (2009). She starred in Happy. Thank You. More. Please. (2010), Meek's Cutoff (2010), Ruby Sparks (2012), and What If (2013). In 2014, she appeared in the HBO miniseries Olive Kitteridge, for which she received an Emmy nomination. She portrayed Emily Gardner in the film The Big Sick (2017), and in 2018 she appeared in the Coen brothers film The Ballad of Buster Scruggs.

Kazan was born in Los Angeles, the daughter of screenwriters Nicholas Kazan and Robin Swicord. Her paternal grandparents were film and theatre director Elia Kazan and playwright Molly Kazan (née Thacher).[4] Elia was an Anatolian Greek emigrant from Istanbul.

Kazan was educated at the private Wildwood School, Windward School, and also at the Marlborough School, located in Hancock Park, Los Angeles. She attended Yale University (also her grandfather's alma mater), where she was a member of the Manuscript Society, graduating in 2005 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in theatre.[5]

Tompkinsville, Kentucky

Tompkinsville is a home rule-class city in and the county seat of Monroe County, Kentucky, United States.[2] The population was 2,402 at the 2010 census, down from 2,660 in 2000. The city was named after Vice President Daniel D. Tompkins who served under President James Monroe, for whom the county was named.

Site of Confederate Gen. John Hunt Morgan's first raid of his famous First Kentucky Raid. July 9, 1862, Morgan's Raiders, coming from Tennessee on their first raid into Kentucky, attacked Major Thomas J. Jordan's 9th Pennsylvania Cavalry at USA garrison. Raiders captured 30 of retreating enemy and destroyed tents and stores. They took 20 wagons, 50 mules, 40 horses, sugar and coffee supplies. At Glasgow they burned supplies, then went north, raiding 16 other towns before returning to Tennessee.

According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 3.8 square miles (9.8 km2), of which, 3.7 square miles (9.6 km2) of it is land and 0.2 square miles (0.52 km2) of it (4.69%) is water.

Vanceburg, Kentucky

As of the census[5] of 2000, there were 1,731 people, 672 households, and 411 families residing in the city. The population density was 1,502.4 people per square mile (581.2/km²). There were 752 housing units at an average density of 652.7 per square mile (252.5/km²). The racial makeup of the city was 98.38% White, 0.64% African American, 0.17% Native American, 0.06% Asian, 0.06% from other races, and 0.69% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 0.17% of the population.

There were 672 households out of which 29.3% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 40.9% were married couples living together, 15.5% had a female householder with no husband present, and 38.7% were non-families. 35.9% of all households were made up of individuals and 15.9% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.29 and the average family size was 2.93.

In the city, the population was spread out with 22.8% under the age of 18, 10.7% from 18 to 24, 28.2% from 25 to 44, 20.7% from 45 to 64, and 17.7% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 37 years. For every 100 females, there were 94.9 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 89.6 males.

Walton, Kentucky

Walton is located in southeastern Boone County and extends slightly into southwestern Kenton County. U.S. Route 25 (Main Street) runs through the center of the city, and Interstates 75 and 71 diverge just west of the city limits. Access to the city from I-75 is via exit 171 (Kentucky Routes 14 and 16). Downtown Cincinnati is 21 miles (34 km) to the north, Lexington is 64 miles (103 km) south via I-75, and Louisville is 82 miles (132 km) to the southwest via I-71. Walton is the highest point between Cincin­nati and Louisville.

As of the census[6] of 2000, there were 2,450 people, 913 households, and 665 families residing in the city. The population density was 701.4 people per square mile (271.0/km²). There were 992 housing units at an average density of 284.0 per square mile (109.7/km²). The racial makeup of the city was 97.35% White, 0.94% African American, 0.20% Native American, 0.69% Asian, 0.04% from other races, and 0.78% from two or more races. Hispanics or Latinos of any race were 0.73% of the population.

There were 913 households out of which 41.3% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 54.3% were married couples living together, 14.6% had a female householder with no husband present, and 27.1% were non-families. 23.9% of all households were made up of individuals and 9.1% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.67 and the average family size was 3.15.
