    Quinton is a town in Pittsburg County, Oklahoma, United States. The population was 1,071 at the 2000 census. The town was named for Elizabeth Quinton who lived to be 116 years old. Her family still resides in and around the town of Quinton.

    Quinton is located at 35°7′33″N 95°22′3″W / 35.12583°N 95.36750°W / 35.12583; -95.36750 (35.125904, -95.367470).[3] According to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of 1.1 square miles (2.8 km2), of which, 1.1 square miles (2.8 km2) of it is land and 0.88% is water.

    As of the census[1] of 2000, there were 1,071 people, 446 households, and 293 families residing in the town. The population density was 954.8 people per square mile (369.2/km²). There were 509 housing units at an average density of 453.8 per square mile (175.5/km²). The racial makeup of the town was 79.93% White, 0.19% African American, 16.15% Native American, 0.19% Asian, 0.19% from other races, and 3.36% from two or more races.
