    Barney is a city in Richland County, North Dakota, United States. The population was 52 at the 2010 census.[5] Barney was founded in 1899. It is part of the Wahpeton, ND–MN Micropolitan Statistical Area.

    As of the census[2] of 2010, there were 52 people, 24 households, and 14 families residing in the city. The population density was 325.0 inhabitants per square mile (125.5/km2).
