    Freistatt, Missouri

    Freistatt was laid out in 1873.[6] The community was named by German settlers after the town of Freistadt,[7] now located in Austria. A post office called Freistatt has been in operation since 1884.[8]

    As of the census[2] of 2010, there were 163 people, 81 households, and 44 families residing in the village. The population density was 776.2 inhabitants per square mile (299.7/km2).
