    According to the United States Census Bureau, the village has a total area of 1.51 square miles (3.91 km2), all land.[6] Emmett is located just north of Interstate 69 and is in the central part of St. Clair County.

    As of the census[2] of 2010, there were 269 people, 91 households, and 74 families residing in the village. The population density was 178.1 inhabitants per square mile (68.8/km2). There were 96 housing units at an average density of 63.6 per square mile (24.6/km2). The racial makeup of the village was 93.7% White, 0.7% Asian, 0.7% Pacific Islander, 3.3% from other races, and 1.5% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 3.3% of the population.

    There were 91 households of which 37.4% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 64.8% were married couples living together, 11.0% had a female householder with no husband present, 5.5% had a male householder with no wife present, and 18.7% were non-families. 16.5% of all households were made up of individuals and 8.8% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older.
