Addison, Maine

The earliest Euro-American settlers in Addison were from Martha's Vineyard. They were looking for richer farmlands, cod, and good meadow grass for their cattle. It has been said that "practically all the residents of Addison are descendants in one way or another of the Vineyard Settlers."
