    Walnut is located at 37°36′01″N 95°04′33″W / 37.600359°N 95.075867°W / 37.600359; -95.075867 (37.600359, -95.075867).[10] According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 1.00 square mile (2.59 km2), of which, 0.99 square miles (2.56 km2) is land and 0.01 square miles (0.03 km2) is water.[1]
